We have a unique opportunity for an experienced Manager to manage the operation and staff of the Supported Employment and Education Services for the Arlington County Job Avenue program. This position functions as a leader and integrated member of the employment services team developing individual employment placements within the community and provides on-site and off-site support to individuals in community-based employment.  Provides individual/group supervision to Arlington-based supported employment, education and peer staff. Provides training, support and mentoring to new and existing employees.

Primary Duties:

  • Coordinate and manage all aspects of Job Avenue Program, including day-to-day operations of all components, staff caseloads, client documentation, and productivity outcomes.
  • Oversee staff to ensure program standards are met, compliance items and training are completed in accordance with PRS, Arlington County standards and state regulations.
  • Provide individual/ group supervision to Arlington-based employment, education and peer specialists to include reviewing goals, performance ratings and achievements, and assessing needs.
  • Serve as liaison and point of contact between PRS and our Arlington County partner for all service delivery, staff performance communication and reporting requirements.
  • Oversee data collection to include collecting new client referral and admission information, monthly employment statistics from staff regarding the monthly number of clients obtaining employment and progressing thought employment phases and provide quarterly employment outcome data for the state report.
  • Provide vocational services to assigned caseload. Employment services include engaging client in supported employment services and the Vocational Screening, Employment Assessment, Job Development, Job Training, and Follow Along Services. These services are guided by Supported Employment principles and standards.
  • Attend community events and present to various private and public groups as needed, which may include evenings.

 Qualifications:

  • Master's Degree in rehabilitation counseling or related field, or Bachelor's degree with significant work-related experience.
  • Minimum one (1) year supervisory or Team Lead experience required.
  • Must be a self-starter who possesses strong interpersonal skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with demonstrated ability to build rapport with staff, clients, internal and external providers.
  • Ability to learn quickly Electronic Health Record (EHR) software.
  • Highly organized.
  • High degree of empathy toward individuals we serve persons with mental illness, substance use disorders, mild intellectual disability, autism spectrum disorders, and persons in crisis or any combination of these.
