PRS CrisisLink is a nationally recognized crisis center serving individuals reaching out the National Suicide Prevention Lifeline hotline and chatline across the United States and locally.  Crisis Workers answering these calls are a blended staff of volunteers and employee who require a unique, creative and empathetic individual to support their growth and development.

We have an exciting new opportunity for a CrisisLink Core Trainer to organize and deliver Crisis Worker core training to volunteers and employees monthly, refresher training quarterly and training updates annually.

FAQs regarding the Core Trainer position:

  • What are the work hours? The CrisisLink program operates like a first responder or hospital would 24/7/365. While this position would be mostly weekdays, training sessions are offered on weeknights and weekends and this position will be expected to work flexible hours to accommodate the 24/7 nature of the center. Training sessions for volunteers are conducted monthly for a minimum of 4 weeknights from 7:00PM-9:00PM and Saturday's from 9:00AM-1:00PM.  Employee trainings vary depending on the shift the worker is hired for.  This position will be expected to work some days 9:00AM-5:00PM or 1:00PM-9:00PM to meet the training needs of the team.  
  • How much does the job pay?We pay a competitive starting salary of $61,740

  • What characteristics do I need to be successful in this job? Are you empathetic, non-judgmental and responsive to the feelings of others? Do you have experience in training small and large groups on skills and knowledge specific to mental health and/or suicide prevention? Are you able to exercise excellent independent judgement? Are you a creative problem solver with minimal direct supervision? Do you have strong communication skills including the ability to present information clearly and be easily understood? Are you familiar with various training methods to include technology-based learning? Are you reliable and discreet with confidential information? Are you well organized?  Are you able to work individually and within a team environment and adjust to changes in workflow as required? If so, you might just be perfect for this position!
