PRS CrisisLink is a nationally recognized crisis center serving individuals reaching out the National Suicide Prevention Lifeline hotline and chatline across the United States and locally.  Crisis Workers answering these calls are a blended staff of volunteers and employee who require a unique, creative and empathetic individual to support their growth and development. We are currently have two vacancies for a Shift Supervisor, (3:00pm-11:30pm and 11:00pm-7:30am) to supervise and support employee and volunteer crisis workers scheduled on his/her shift.

Frequently Asked Questions:

  • What are the shift times? Evening shifts are 3:00pm 11:30pm or 8:00pm to 4:30am; Overnight shift is 11:00pm 7:30am; there is currently no Daytime shift available.  Includes weekdays, weekends and some holidays. Current need is Overnight Shift.
  • What is the rate of pay? We pay a competitive starting salary in the mid $40s, more depending on experience.

  • What is the environment of the call center? Our call center is welcoming and clean, part of the PRS Headquarters building. Staff answer calls and texts at cubicles, each with a computer and phone. Often times, you will find snacks provided!
  • How many other people will I be working with? On any given shift there will be 2-5  Crisis Workers to include volunteers, and overlap of Shift Supervisor on some days.
  • What are the nature of the calls? Individuals going through
  • What do people call, text or chat with CrisisLink about? Individuals going through any type of emotional or mental health crisis, including experiencing suicidal thoughts / ideation, depression, trauma, sexual violence, can use the hotline, chat and textline services. Our service is open to anyone who needs us and every contact is a little bit different.
  • Do I receive training? We offer extensive training for a total of about 60 hours. Training includes online modules and on-the-job training (OJT) where you get to listen to a staff take calls and they listen to you take calls, providing important feedback.
  • What characteristics do I need to be successful in this job? Are you empathetic, non-judgmental and responsive to the feelings of others? Can you make sound decisions under pressure? Are you a problem solver who can make sound decisions with minimal supervision? Do you have strong communication skills including the ability to present information clearly and be easily understood? Are you reliable and discreet with confidential information? Are you well organized, feel comfortable training and instructing others?  Are you able to work individually and within a team environment and adjust to changes in work flow as required? If so, you might just be perfect for this Supervisory position!
